Setup guides

Every overlay you own can be used two ways: as a browser source (a private link that animates and updates when you edit your design) or as PNG files you download. Get both from your library, and open the studio to customize.

OBS Studio

  1. In the studio, click Save design, then Copy link next to the scene you want.
  2. In OBS, open the scene, click + under Sources and choose Browser.
  3. Paste the link into URL. Set Width and Height to the size shown next to the link, for example 1920 × 1080, and FPS to 30 or 60.
  4. Turn on Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active.
  5. Move the browser source above your game capture and below your webcam. For the live scene, position your webcam inside the frame.

Countdown on the starting screen: add &countdown=5 to the end of the starting-soon link for a 5-minute timer that starts when the source loads.

Streamlabs Desktop

  1. Click + in Sources and choose Browser Source.
  2. Paste your link and set the width and height shown in the studio.
  3. For PNGs, add an Image source instead and choose the file from your download.

Meld Studio

Add a Browser layer, paste the link and set the layer size to match the scene. PNGs work as Image layers.

TikTok LIVE Studio

  1. Use the Vertical layout scene (1080 × 1920).
  2. Add it as an image source with the PNG, or as a link source if your version of LIVE Studio supports web sources.
  3. Keep the bottom of the screen clear. The layout already leaves room for TikTok's comments and gift area.

Gift-triggered effects need a third-party tool such as TikFinity or Streamer.bot. Kinetix doesn't connect to TikTok directly.

Alerts in Streamlabs or StreamElements

  1. Download your PNGs and find the alert cards, one per alert type.
  2. In your alert settings, for each alert type (follow, subscriber, raid, tip), upload the matching card as the image.
  3. Set the alert text to appear over the card, using the same font and color you chose in the studio.

The alert browser-source link is for previewing your design. Your alert tool handles triggering when someone follows or subscribes.

Changing your overlay while you're live

Open My library → Live controller, ideally on your phone. Changes reach every browser source in about 2 seconds:

  • Webcam covering something? Tap or drag on the preview to move it, and pick Small, Medium or Large. "Back to design position" undoes it.
  • Hide or show the webcam frame, name plate, socials or ticker.
  • Message banner for things like "Back after this round" or "Giveaway at the goal!"
  • Counters (wins, losses, kills…) appear in Match mode.
  • Goal: set the title and target, and add to it by hand if you need to.

Donation jars, goals and alerts

Add the Donation jar & goal and Alert cards links as browser sources. In the live controller, turn on your event inbox. You get a private address that your tools send events to:

  • Ko-fi: paste the inbox address as your Ko-fi webhook URL, and paste Ko-fi's verification token into the controller. Every tip fills the jar and plays an alert.
  • TikTok gifts: in TikFinity, add a webhook action for gifts that calls your-inbox-address?type=gift&name=…&amount=…. Set the goal to count TikTok coins or gifts.
  • Twitch (easiest): click Connect Twitch in the live controller and sign in. Follows, subs, gift subs, resubs, bits and raids then play automatically, with nothing extra running on your PC. You can disconnect anytime, or remove access from Twitch's Connections settings.
  • YouTube, Kick (or Twitch without connecting): in Streamer.bot, add a Fetch URL sub-action to your follow, sub, cheer or Super Chat actions, for example your-inbox-address?type=sub&name=%user%.

Event types: tip, gift, follow, sub, raid, member, cheer, like. Tools that send JSON can POST {"type":"tip","name":"sam","amount":5}. Keep the inbox address private, and make a new one from the controller if it leaks.

Twitch panels

Go to your channel, click About, turn on Edit Panels, add a panel and upload the panel PNG. Twitch shows them at 320 × 80. The files are made at double size so they stay sharp.

Troubleshooting

  • The overlay is blank in OBS. Check that you saved your design in the studio, and that the scene is one you own. Right-click the source and choose Refresh.
  • The overlay is cut off or blurry. The browser source width and height must match the scene size exactly.
  • My changes don't show. Saved changes appear within about 20 seconds. Refresh the source to see them immediately.
  • I lost my library. Request a new sign-in link on the library page.

Still stuck? Contact support and include the scene name and your streaming software version.
